My youngest son immediately volunteered to be my model for my first card when he heard I was creating my own deck. He legit asked to be The Fool.

That right there is the heart of what the Fool card is and represents. A hearty willingness to step forward onto a new path, an unknown journey, with all the hope and optimism of one who has no idea what the path holds. The space of “we don’t know what we don’t know.”

That The Kid had no stigma about The Fool is also very appropriate and perfect. This is one of those cards that without knowing it, one sees in a reading and thinks, “ah, shit, The Fool!” I repeat, there is nothing wrong with The Fool, and in fact, there are no bad cards. The Fool is innocent on this journey, they’ve had other experiences, but this one is brand new!
