By the Light of the Moon

Once again, I find myself painting on old crumbling brick. I’m going to be an expert at this soon!

The Moon Bar opening in the space of the former Danny’s Pub has an old mural from the previous pub that needed a cover up before they opened. Their color theme is black and white with a UW Madison vibe. I decided to reference the 1921 film A Trip to the Moon that came out the year my great grandparents built a house just off campus, but a little friendlier. Rather than that creepy old man face with a rocket jabbing it’s eye out, we went with a friendly face with a spyglass looking out on the Madison skyline.
